Foreign volunteers from 18 countries helped the children to improve their English and learn about healthy living. The students had the opportunity to discover new cultures and communicate with their peers from all over Ukraine.
This year GoCamp East took place at the premises of the Child's Health Centre "Dnipro" during July and August. In total, 600 children from 24 schools in Donetsk and Luhansk regions will took part in the camp. During the camp, teachers from these schools and foreign volunteers have worked with the children—teaching them English, critical thinking, tolerance, the basics of civic education and healthy lifestyles.
GoCamp East was initiated by the Global Office NGO and supported by the British Council and by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The British Ambassador to Ukraine, Judith Gough, herself volunteered in the camp as well as teachers and staff of the British Council and British Embassy.
