Winners of the partner competition for "Active Citizens" in Moldova
The British Council’s ACTIVE CITIZENS PROJECT aims at intercultural dialogue and sustainable social development.
The British Council has been announcing an open-call for new partners for Active Citizens project in Moldova that’s why civil society organisations, charities, youth initiatives, etc. are invited to participate. The programme includes workshops for partner’s facilitators (they deliver the Active Citizens training programme to local communities around the country), participation in national and international workshops study visits for the best facilitators.
Only organisations can be a programme’s partner. Applications from individuals will not be accepted.
Potential partners have to provide at least two facilitators that will be trained at Active Citizens methodology by the British Council on November 28 – December 02, 2017. Partner organizations should support their facilitators at Active Citizens local trainings.
As a result of training in local communities should be Social Action Projects aimed to improve life within community. These projects should be coordinated and supported by a partner.
Active Citizens is a global social leadership training programme that promotes intercultural dialogue and community-led social development. The project aims to facilitate social changes through contribution of individuals who are influential within their community towards achieving sustainable development both locally and globally. It provides them with tools and support to better understand how to work with people from diverse backgrounds and avoid conflicts.
In Moldova the project is focused on working with youth in developing behaviour and skills which promote intercultural dialogue and sustainable development. The projects key areas are facilitation of intercultural dialogue within whole Moldova, building relations among people based on equal opportunities, respect for diversity, community development and social activism.
Active Citizens was launched in 2009 and has run in over 40 countries in the Middle East and North Africa, Europe, South and East Asia, North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa and the UK. Eligibility criteria
To be eligible to apply to be a Partner in the Active Citizens Moldova Programme Cycle 2017-18, organisations must fulfil these criteria:
- Be Moldova based and work with a community in Moldova
- Be able to guarantee the commitment of a Project Co-ordinator and two facilitators
- Be able to contribute the necessary staff time and additional costs to ensure effective delivery of the project, including monitoring, evaluation and reporting commitments
- Accept the requirements in relation to intellectual property rights and other British Council’s policies defined in a partnership agreement attached below.
In addition, application must:
- be received by the deadline;
- be completed.
