Role overview

The British Council in Ukraine is looking for an English teacher (hourly) to join our team. This role is your chance to deliver high-quality English language teaching to a diverse audience of young people and adults, contributing to our mission of building connections, understanding and trust between the UK and countries around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and effective English lessons for children (6-17 years old) and adults.
  • Teaching online lessons.
  • Preparing students for exams and substituting for other teachers if necessary.
  • Collaboration with the Learning Center team to ensure a quality learning process.
  • Participation in meetings and training for professional development.

Required:

  • Hold Cambridge CELTA, Trinity Cert TESOL or equivalent teaching qualifications.
  • Teaching experience no less than 2 years after obtaining the certificate.
  • Higher linguistic Education or a Bachelor is obligatory. 
  • DELTA Diploma, Master's degree in teaching English as a foreign language or applied linguistics will be an advantage.
  • Proficient in English (minimum CPE Pass / IELTS band 8 in all four sections).
  • Experience in teaching at least one of the following groups:

Children aged 6-7 years (100+ hours)
Children aged 8-10 years (200+ hours)
Young adults aged 11-17 (200+ hours)
Adults General English (200+ hours)
