Recently the Minister of Youth, Family and Sports Dmitry Bulatov visited the British Council office, had a little tour around the Teaching Centre, got acquainted with events in the sphere of education and culture and discussed plans with the British Council Ukraine representatives. In particular during the meeting both parties reached agreement to launch this autumn the joint project “Active citizens”. Its aim is to cooperate with young Ukrainians, conduct a series of trainings and working sessions on interaction with the community, providing intercultural dialogue in society and solving conflicts and training future leaders.
Minister Bulatov stated: “We value this cooperation very much. The programme is first of all about support and training of young leaders. I thank the British Council for initiating it. Their experience in engaging young people in proactive social projects is of great importance to Ukraine.”
The British Council is strongly involved in helping citizens and institutions to contribute to a more inclusive, open and prosperous world and to connect local issues to global themes. Project “Active citizens” runs for several years and fosters strengthening of civil society in Ukraine.
