The British Council has renewed recently Active Citizens Project in Ukraine. Active Citizens is a social leadership programme which promotes intercultural dialogue and social responsibility as key leadership competencies in the 21st century. In Ukraine project aimed at skills and knowledge development among young people in order to facilitate intercultural dialogue and conflicts’ avoiding between West and East of Ukraine.
The following 9 organisations have agreed jointly with Ministry for Youth and Sports of Ukraine to become our partners: Bohdan Hawrylyshyn Charitable Foundation; Free University of Maydan; Vinnytsia Youth SCO for People with Disabilities “Harmony”; SCO “Journalistic Association Initiative” in partnership with International Institute for Regional Press and Information; AEGEE-Dnipropetrivsk (European Student Forum); Lutsk SCOs Union “Youth Platform”; National Scouts Organisation “Plast”; Sumy Youth SCO “Regional Initiatives Foundation”; Klitschko Foundation.
On December 18-22 the British Council is conducting training for trainers for 28 experts from partners’ organisations that represent 12 regions of Ukraine. According to the programme each 2 trainers are expected to conduct trainings for at least 30 active citizens in their communities. It is considered that project will facilitate active citizenship and civil culture in Ukrainian society.
Active Citizens Project had been already implemented in Ukraine in 2009-2012. The training for trainers is a programme’s reloading in a new format and with new accents.
