Over 100 musicians will perform on three festival stages at Lviv’s annual Alfa Jazz Fest with an audience of more than 40 000 viewers. Alfa Jazz has stages set up in the heart of Lviv at Rynok Square and near Potocki Palace – open air venues free to all comers. The festival main stage is at Bodgan Khmelnitskyi Culture Park and offers both ticketed seating and free festival seating with big screen viewing in the park picnic area.

On June, 26, 18.00 Yazz Ahmed Quartet (UK) will perform on Rynok Square. Yazz Ahmed - is a young star of British jazz scene, who plays trumpet and flugelhorn. In 2011 she released her first album, the second one is on the way. Yazz is an active participant of international music exchange programmes and recently she had received a creative Birmingham Jazzlines fellowship. Yazz does not limit herself to jazz projects and cooperated with other musicians such as Radiohead, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, The Manic Street Preachers, Twiggy and others.
On June, 27, 14.00 british composer and clarnetist Arun Ghosh will perform near Potocki Palace. Jazzman is an associate artist an Albany Theatre in London and also a resident at Southbank’s Alchemy Festival. In his work Arun combines classical jazz with hip-hop, folk indian music, rock and avant-garde.
On June, 28 14.00 jazz band Empirical will perform near Potocki Palace. Founded in 2007, the band has already released three studio albums, became the MOBO awards best jazz performance band, was namerd best band at Parliamentary Jazz Awards, won European Jazz contest and received Peter Whittingham prize.
In addition to scheduled concerts, visitors to Alfa Jazz Fest 2014 can choose from a fantastic programme of special events, jazz workshops conducted by the traveling musicians; and wide open jam-sessions where anything can happen and usually does.
