EDI Awards

As part of its annual Arts Programme, the British Council seeks to champion Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) within the Ukrainian cultural sector. At the British Council, we are strongly committed to supporting conditions in wider society that encourage and value diversity and promote dignity. We believe that the arts and creative industries can be exemplary for society in its exercise of tolerance and defence of difference. Truly creative communities rely on equality and freedom of expression, and value the contribution of difference as it fosters innovation.

We will award a number of grants of up to £3,000 each to support local initiatives looking to promote EDI values in partnership with a UK cultural organisation or festival. This partnership could take various forms (e.g. British expertise for workshops and seminars; British content like films or performance pieces as part of a festival; etc.
