Shell Company in collaboration with British Council Ukraine are pleased to invite universities, scientific Institutions, NGOs/CSOs to submit proposals for projects in the area of unconventional gas development in Ukraine.
The call for proposals is part of the Ukrainian Unconventional Gas Institute programme, that focuses on knowledge sharing between Ukrainian and foreign partners in the sphere of exploration and production of unconventional hydrocarbons, as well as improving knowledge, skills and qualification of specialists in this sphere.
British Council Ukraine supports collaboration between Ukraine and UK around the subject area of Energy within the “Internationalising Higher Education” programme.
Priority will be given to applications around the following subject areas:
- Natural gas as a source of energy in Ukraine
- Best global practices for environment protection in the course of implementation of projects for exploration and production of unconventional hydrocarbons
- Socio-Economic benefits for local community, districts and region
Ukrainian Unconventional Gas Institute has been established by Shell within the framework of the production sharing agreement for hydrocarbons to be recovered within Yuzivska block. The project aims to address different aspects of unconventional gas development in Ukraine. Non-technical component of its programme focuses on the development of institutional capacity as well as research of industry’s economic, environmental and social influence over the state, regional and local development.
Project grants valued from 10,000 to 50,000 USD will be awarded to selected institutions. The deadline for the submission of applications is May 14th, 2014.
