Measuring Progress
Throughout the Upper Secondary Plus course there’s a strong focus on assessment at all stages of the learning process, known as Assessment for Learning. This approach aims to encourage students to be active in the learning process and in their assessment of it. It allows students to think about their progress, assess where they are now, where they’re going next, and how best to get there.
To encourage Assessment for Learning, each magazine clearly features the aims of lessons at the top of each spread, and some ‘Reflect’ features throughout, so that students can measure their learning against the aims.
Students are also evaluated on their class participation, class work, language skills and behaviour. Each of these aspects is monitored by the teacher, and parents are sent a written end of semester report on the child’s progress. There is an example report at the bottom of this page.
Feedback can be requested from the teacher during the term by emailing info@britishcouncil.org.ua including your child’s name and their class.
If you would like to talk to the teacher, please contact our Customer Service team via Live Chat from 10 till 17, Mon-Fri or write an email on info@britishcouncil.org.ua
