Potemkinskyi steps screening accompanied by a symphonic orchestra is traditionally one of the most exciting and favourite events at Odessa International Film Festival.
This year the British Council will present to the festival audience the criminal thriller Blackmail directed by the genius of noire and suspense, one of the world’s all times most influential directors - Alfred Hitchcock.
Blackmail occupies a unique place among Hitchcock’s works and the British cinematography in general. It is the first feature full-length film with sound ever created in the UK.
At the festival the audience will see less known – silent version of the film. Its original was restored by national archive of British Film Institute.
