Creative entrepreneurs are pivotal figures for the creative economy: by bridging the gap between artists and consumers, they drive forward the economic and cultural development of societies. The British Council partnered with the UK’s agency for business and technological innovation Nesta to develop 3 days’ trainings where you can acquire knowledge and skills to help you develop your idea or a startup into a sustainable and powerful business. The programme is delivered in partnership with creative hubs in different cities of Ukraine. Local partner – PwC
PwC will organize an additional fourth day of the training focusing on local context and main framework to run a business in Ukraine.
FOR WHOM?
The trainings are targeted at people working across the creative and cultural businesses or startups in: publishing, design, fashion, architecture, visual arts, music, theatre/dance, film, radio/TV, photography, video games, digital media, festival management, , creative hubs, IT solutions for cultural/creative initiatives, crafts.
Participants can be either established entrepreneurs, who already work with their creative idea and have 2-3 years of experience in business; or people at a pre-trading stage, with a creative idea which they wish to turn into a solid business.
In Ukraine the programme was launched in 2015. During the first edition we trained 94 creative entrepreneurs in four cities, out of them 20 participants were awarded small development grants for next steps of their businesses. Click here to learn more about some of our alumni projects.
Until 8 January 2017 we are running the open call for trainings to take place in February 2017 in four cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Lviv, Dnipro and Ivano-Frankivsk.
