The British Council is proud to support Sunny Bunny, Molodist KIFF’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) film section, in its promotion of LGBT rights and in raising awareness of the LGBT community in Ukraine. The programme celebrates 15 years in 2016, and it is currently the main platform for LGBT-related film promotion and showcasing in Ukraine.

This year we are supporting the festival’s jury panel by bringing Brian Robinson - BFI National Archive Comms Manager and BFI Flare Programmer. Also we are supporting the programme by bringing two films from the UK:

THE PASS

Director: Ben A. Williams

2016 / 88’

Screening: 27.10, 21:15, "Kyiv" Cinema

Screening presented by co-producer Kurban Kassam

Two young footballers share a hotel room the night before a key match. Out of nowhere, one kisses the other. The emotional impact of this ‘pass’ plays out through the next ten years of their lives – a decade of success and failure, secrets and lies, in a sporting world where image is everything.

WILL YOU DANCE WITH ME?

Director: Derek Jarman

2014 / 78’

Screening: 28.10, 20:00, "Kyiv" Cinema

Screening presented by Brian Robinson – BFI Archive Comms Manager and BFI Flare Programmer

Twenty years after the death of Derek Jarman, a heretofore unknown film of him comes to light. On 5th September 1984, Ron Peck and Mark Ayres invited Derek Jarman to join them in recording some improvisations at Benjy’s nightclub in London, as a part of the early experimental work for their feature film EMPIRE STATE.
