The International Department of the National Technical University of Ukraine - Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) - has, for several years now, been arranging free English classes for its students. This year - the Year of English in Ukraine – the University determined to offer an additional free intensive language course for KPI students, and invited the British Council to partner the effort. The classes were held from 29 June through 17 July 2016.
British Council Teaching Centre teachers conducted three language lessons covering topics like passing the internationally recognized IELTS exam, drafting CV and cover letters in English, and practical traveling vocabulary.
Students were also introduced to English learning applications developed by the British Council, a free online course - LearnEnglish Pathways - as well as many other available study materials on the LearnEnglish website.
