At the first stage of the Taking the Stage 2018 programme, we invited directors and Ukrainian theaters to send a joint application for the production of the show that works with the theme "Open Society: Is The Past Prologue?". We did not limit the choice of directors and theaters to the names of specific works, participants could have chosen any work of British literature that exists in the official Ukrainian translation. Of the 23 projects received, the expert panel selected 10 finalists.
Each finalist will present his/her directorial reading of the theater with the participation of theater actors, from whom an application was submitted. According to the results of the show, the expert group will select the two winners of the contest, which will present these plays by the spring of 2019. The third winner will be chosen by the audience.
This year the ticket price for one day shows is 70 UAH. All received funds will be used to create the performance and support the third finalist of the competition, which will be chosen by the audience. By purchasing an entry ticket, you not only guarantee a place in the hall, but you also join the process of creating a new performance.
