IELTS and the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR)

The Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) provides a basis for the mutual recognition of language qualifications, thus facilitating educational and occupational mobility. IELTS has been carefully mapped onto this international scale, established by the Council of Europe, meaning that you can use IELTS for professional and educational recognition within the European Union.
